Contentment with the now

We've been talking about comparison and hopelessness at church and small group lately and I started thinking about how it relates to my life. Honestly there are not many things I want... I have a great marriage, a job I love, good friends... but there are so many times that Justin and I find ourselves just going through life until (insert life's milestone here) happens. It's so hard to even realize we're doing it, but we find ourselves making plans... after we finish the house, after he finishes school, after whatever we'll do this or that. God calls us to live each day for him and (in our case) we seem to put his plans on hold until we get our lives together. Hopefully we can stop "getting it together" and just go!

Great to see you blogging! I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say!! And I agree with the looking forward to the next thing notion. Why do we do that? Is it discontentment?? For me, that is what I had to learn...contentment with God and where He has me for now.
